Foundation board members recognized

HASTINGS — The Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors recognizes five new members. After a recruitment and nomination process, the Board voted unanimously to accept the names of Roger Doerr, Leota Rolls and Randy Ruhter. They will begin serving a term of three years, beginning January 2014. Don Jackson and Dave Long joined the Board in August 2013.

  • Roger Doerr retired in 2013 from Hastings College after a career that included 44 years teaching, as well as serving seven years as president of the Hastings College Foundation.
  • Don Jackson is president of Hastings College. A 1970 alumnus of the College, he served on the Board of Trustees for more than five years. Prior to joining the College, he spent 21 years as global Chief Operating Officer of Easter Seals, Inc.
  • Dave Long is business manager for Children & Adolescent Clinic P.C., Midwest Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists P.C., and Midwest Hearing Specialists.
  • Leota Rolls retired in 2011 as a Senior Vice President after a 47-year career at Mary Lanning Healthcare.
  • Randy Ruhter is president and founder of Ruhter Auction & Realty, Inc., a Hastings company serving Nebraska since 1967.

“Each of these community leaders brings unique insights and experience to the team,” said Jack Steiner, President of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “We look forward to working together to strengthen the vision of the organization and ties to all the communities in Mary Lanning’s service area.

We wish to thank our directors whose terms ended December 2013. Michael G. Butler, John Farrell, Jane Foote and Gayle McClure were original charter Board members, and we sincerely thank them for their dedication and service as they depart the Board.”
