Dr. Thomas Zusag, Radiation Oncologist, Jaci Nore, Director of Morrison Cancer Center, Mackenzie Skupa, volleyball senior, and Mark Callahan, Interim President and CEO of Mary Lanning Healthcare.

Silver Lake High School Lady Mustang volleyball players Mackenzie Skupa, Sydney Meyer, Meghan Rockefeller, Mariell Lillefosse, Nadine Lovejoy and Kila Timm, along with coaches Stacie Heldt and Jenn tenBensel, presented a check to Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation for cancer care. The donation represented proceeds from the annual Silver Lake Pink Night for Breast Cancer Awareness game.

“In 2011, we raised $1,200 with our first Play Pink night and designated it for cancer research,” said Coach Heldt. “But this year we advertised Play Pink night with our decision to help cancer patients in the three counties we serve, Adams, Franklin and Webster, and raised over $3,000.”

Team members credit their success to good planning and hard work selling t-shirts, distributing posters and gathering raffle prizes. Thanks to all who supported the team and a great cause.
